Admission Requirements
The admissions process begins with a declaration from a ranked professor at Franklin agreeing to supervise the candidate.
Swiss Degree Requirements:
- Master degree in the field of the doctorate or a related field from an accredited Swiss university with final grade “good” (or equivalent) or better; OR
- Master from a Swiss university of applied sciences or university of teacher education as defined by Swiss law, with equivalent grade
Foreign Degree Requirements:
- Master degree from a program of at least 90 ECTS credits (or equivalent full-time workload in a Bologna-style system)
- Diploma and all credited coursework obtained at a university accredited by the competent national authority
- Diploma officially recognized by the state in which it was issued
- Diploma entitles holder to pursue doctoral study at an accredited university in the awarding country
Exclusions: MAS, EMBA, MBA, or similar degrees do not qualify.
Admission may be conditional on proof of English proficiency.
All applicants must participate in an admission interview with the Program Director and a ranked professor (usually the intended supervisor).
