Right to Appeal Academic Decisions

Any academic policy decision rendered by the Associate Dean for Student Success (with the exception of Academic Dismissals) can be appealed to the Dean of Academic Affairs if the student believes that they can demonstrate bias, prejudice or arbitrariness in the decision. An appeal must be initiated within two weeks of the Associate Dean’s decision. The student must forward the Associate Dean’s decision to the Dean of Academic Affairs, together with a written explanation of the basis for the appeal. The Dean can decide to dismiss the appeal or to investigate further. On the basis of further investigation the original decision can be upheld, modified, or overturned. The decision of the Dean of Academic Affairs is final.
