Graduation and Commencement
Franklin University Switzerland confers the Master of Science degree in August for full-time students who enter the program in the previous fall semester. Graduate students who have completed all MSIM degree requirements, except for the Practical Experience, the Individual Learning Journey, and the Thesis may participate in the commencement ceremony held in May. Once a student has successfully completed the Practical Experience, the Individual Learning Journey, the Thesis, and meets all the MSIM degree requirements, the student will officially graduate by the end of August (August 31) and the diploma will be issued subsequently.
45 credits and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 are required to successfully complete the program. Students below this standard at the end of their first semester, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine if successful completion of the program is possible.
Graduation with Distinction
A student who earns a GPA of 3.6 or higher will graduate with honors, which will be indicated on the final transcript as “With Distinction.”
Graduation Deferment
In the event that a student is not able to complete their practical experience, individual learning journey, and/or thesis requirements by the deadline for graduation, the following procedure will be followed:
- Student will submit for approval a request for deferment.
- The request must be approved by the program director of the appropriate graduate program.
- If granted, the student must pay a fee. For more details see www.fus.edu/online-payment/deposits-and-fees.
- If approved, the final date for completion will be the next degree conferral period.
