POL 233 Migration and Integration Policy
Migration policy is one of the most important policy areas of countries in the present. After a primer into policy analysis more generally, this course approaches migration policy from three angles. In the first part, the course investigates the policy preferences of electorates and elites in countries with high shares of immigrant population. The second part analyzes the types and timing of the implementation of immigration and integration policies. The last part of the course focuses on the effects of these policies with regard to the immigration, integration, and representation of immigrants. In general, the course is based on comparative analyses of countries with high shares of immigrant population.
