Attendance Policy
Students are expected to attend all classes.
Attendance is not participation. Poor attendance will certainly impact the class participation grade. Students who miss more than 15% of contact hours may have their grades reduced by one level (e.g. a B becomes a B-).
If for some medical reason, a student is unable to attend the student must notify the Professor and the Program Administration prior to missing class. A note from the doctor is required and will be reviewed by the Program Administration to determine if the student must retake the course/session to receive full credit.
If a student comes unprepared for class, the student will be asked to leave. The professor determines if the student is adequately prepared to fully participate in the class based on the participation policy outlined in the Appendix B of the course syllabus, this includes but is not limited to:
- Reliable and punctual
- Has completed any necessary assignments
- Participates actively and frequently
- Collaborates and cooperates effectively with team
- Shares insightful and meaningful comments
- Listens attentively to classmates and instructor
- Contributes to class learning
